The Exhumation of the Tomb of Servant of God Mar Ivanios

The tomb of Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios, the proponent of the Malankara Reunion Movement was exhumed for canonical recognition on Monday, June 23, 2014. This was done as a canonical requirement in the process of the canonization. The service started with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. All the bishops of the Church concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. The whole service was concluded with the reburial of the mortal remains at 7.30 pm.

On Friday, April 11, 2014, His Excellency Thomas Mar Eusebius led a delegation to the newly elected Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II at his residence in Teaneck, New Jersey. The seven member delegation also included Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery and Very Rev. Fr. Augustine Mangalath, the Vicar General and Chancellor of the Exarchate respectively. His Excellency conveyed to the new Patriarch congratulations, best wishes and prayers on behalf of the Exarchate.

Meeting of the Exarchate Pastoral Council

An ordinary meeting of the Pastoral Council of the Exarchate was held at 10.00 am. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Exarchate Chancery, Elmont, New York. His Excellency Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius presided over the meeting. The meeting started with a reflection on the Word of God led by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery, Vicar General of the Exarchate. MCYM Northeast Tristate Region Annual Lenten Retreat

HUNTINGTON, NY - On March 28th and 29th, the MCYM-Tristate (Malankara Catholic Youth Movement from the NY/NJ/CT) region held their annual Lenten retreat at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, New York. The retreat was given by Rt. Rev. Msgr. James M. McDonald, a priest of the Diocese of Rockville Center and the pastor of St. Aidan Catholic Church in Williston Park. The Monsignor preached three talks: The Pearl of Great Price, The Mercy of God, and Vocations.

Bishop Thomas Mar Eusebius visits the Holy Father

ROME - March 27, 2014 - His Excellency Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate visited the Holy Father Pope Francis on Wednesday, March 27 at the Vatican and conveyed the greetings and prayers of the Exarchate. The Holy Father extended his blessings to the Exarchate. This was His Excellency's first visit to the Holy Father Pope Francis. His Excellency was on an official trip to Rome in his capacity as the Episcopal Visitator to the Syro-Malankara Catholic priests studying at the Collegio Damasceno in Rome.

Malankara Catholic Mission of San Jose

On February 16, 2014, His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius inaugurated the new Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission in San Jose, California. The annual Youth Night for the New York Tri-state region was held on January 11, 2014 under the direction of the MCYM Tri-State Regional Board. The evening started at 5:30 pm with Evening prayer followed by Welcome Speech by Abraham Thomas (Regional President) and Director's Address by Rev. Fr. Michael Edathil. Msgr. Legal Registration of the Exarchate

By the grace of God, the process of registering our Exarchate as a legal entity in the US has been successfully completed. The Exarchate has been registered as a Not-for Profit Incorporation having all the rights of a diocese with jurisdiction all of the country. The Exarchate is deeply thankful to Msgr. Alan Placa whose legal expertise in both Canon Law and Civil Law and whose generosity have been instrumental in this achievement.
