New Service Book of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Holy Mass is published

With the approval of the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, the Department of Sacred Liturgy in the Exarchate has published a new Service Book of the Holy Mass for the use in the Exarchate. The special feature of this book is that it contains four columns on every page. The first column has the prayers of the Holy Mass for the congregation in Malayalam, the second column contains the transliteration, the third column has the same prayers in English and the fourth column has a commentary on the Holy Mass.

Construction of New Church for the Houston Parish

The parish community of the St. Peter’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish at Houston has launched the construction of a new church. The foundation stone for the new church was laid by His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius on November 2, 2012 in the presence of Rev. Fr. Job Kalluvilayil, the pastor and the parishioners. Priests from the Syro-Malabar parishes in Houston and Fr. Noby Ayyaneth from the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum were also present on the occasion.

First Cardinal Designate of the Malankara Church

The Syro-Malankara Catholic Exarchate joyfully celebrates the Holy Father's announcement of a consistory for the creation of six new Cardinals, which includes His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos. The Exarchate rejoices at the ecclesial recognition bestowed on the head and father of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church.

The Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission of Los Angeles

The long cherished dream of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Faithful in Los Angeles became a reality on October 14, 2012 as the Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission was officially started by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, bishop of the Sryo-Malankara Catholic Exarchate in USA. Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Mambrakatt is appointed the priest in charge of this Mission. His Excellency and Fr. Kuriakose celebrated the Holy Eucharist with our Faithful in Los Angeles at 10:00 am on October 14th at the Chapel of the Mary Knoll Sisters in Monrovia, and the Mission was officially inaugurated.

2nd Anniversary of the Episcopal Ordination of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius

Today our beloved Exarch celebrates the second anniversary of his ordination to the episcopacy. Two years ago to this day, on September 21, 2010, Dr. Naickamparambil was ordained bishop, and assumed the new name Thomas Mar Eusebius. This event marked a new beginning for us as we looked on eagerly toward the establishment of our Exarchate.

Reunion Celebrations

The 20th and 21st of September are days which are of great historic and religious importance for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. On September 20, 1930, Archbishop Mar Ivanios reunited with the Catholic Church, marking the crowning of three centuries of attempts to reunite separated Christians in Malankara. The historic reunion of Mar Ivanios with Mar Theophilos, Father John Kuzhinapurath OIC, Deacon Alexander OIC, and Mr. Chacko Kilileth on the 20th of September is a moment which the Malankara Church has been celebrating for 82 years.

Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of our Catholicos

August 15 is a day close to the heart of all Indian Christians, both because it is the Feast of Shunoyo (or the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and because it is Indian Independence Day, but it is special to Syro-Malankara Catholics for another reason. On 15 August 2001, then-Msgr. Isaac Thottunkal was ordained a bishop. Today, His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church celebrates the eleventh anniversary of his ordination to the episcopacy.
