Christopher Thomas of the St. Mary Syro-Malankara Catholic Church Toronto, Canada has been accepted as a seminarian for the Eparchy and is beginning his Philosophy studies at St. Philip Neri Seminary in downtown Toronto. Feast of St. John Vianney, Patron of Parish Priests

Born near Lyon, France, this farmer’s son studied for the priesthood for many years, and eventually was ordained more for his devoutness and goodwill than for other qualities. But he became a model parish priest in Arsen-Dombes, where he served for 40 years. He was devoted to his parishioners and became famous for rigorous preaching and insights in the confessional. The Cure of Ars, as he was known, spent up to 18 hours a day hearing the confessions of pilgrims who sought him out. He is the patron of parish priests.

Farewell to Rev. Dr. Baby Madathikunnath

Rev. Dr. Baby Madathikunnath has been relieved of his responsibilities as Pastor of the St. Jude Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The St. Mary Queen of Peace Eparchy is deeply grateful to Rev. Fr. Dr. Baby Madathiunnath for the pastoral leadership that he gave to the parish in Calgary. Two New Bishops for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church

On Friday, July 15, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church was blessed with 2 new bishops. Most Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Polycarpos became the Auxiliary Bishop of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum and Most Rev. Dr. Antony Mar Silvanos became the Bishop of the Major Archepiscopal Curia. On behalf of the Eparchial Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos, and all the Clergy, Religious, and faithful of the Saint Mary Queen of Peace Eparchy, the Eparchy sends its prayerful greetings and best wishes to Mar Polycarpos and Mar Silvanos.

Nuhro 2020 Bible Quiz

The Eparchial Bible Quiz will be part of the Faith Formation program. It will be conducted at three levels (Parish, Regional and Eparchial levels) for various age groups. The Nuhro 2022 Bible Quiz will be conducted online at all levels. The Quiz Questions for the Adult group will be given in Malayalam based on the POC Malayalam Bible. The Malayalam quiz option is only available to the adult group. The English Bible Quiz is based on The New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE).

Malankara Catholic Children's League (MCCL) Day

On Sunday, February 13, 2022, the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church is celebrating MCCL Day, This takes place on the Sunday following the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in the Temple (Mayaltho). The Church recognizes the truth that the future of our Church is in its children. Therefore, the Church gives great importance to the faith formation of the children and their Christian personality formation. It is the desire and the dream of the Church that our children grow up like Child Jesus, “who increased in wisdom and in years, and in divine and human favour” (Lk 3:52).

Feast Day Celebration of H.E. Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos

On Saturday, January 8, 2021, St. Mary Queen of Peace Eparchy celebrated the Feast Day of the Eparchial Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos. The day was marked with the celebration of the Holy Qurbono with His Excellency as the Main Celebrant, and the Cathedral Rector, Rev. Fr. Noby Ayyaneth as the homilist. The Protosyncellus, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Augustine Mangalath, Rev. Fr. Liju Thundiyil, and Rev. Fr. Jobin Thomas also concelebrated the Holy Qurbono. The Rev. Sisters and lay faithful of the tri-state area were in attendance representing the entire Eparchy.

Malankara Catholic Mission Niagara Region (Canada)

On November 27, 2021, the Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission Niagara Region was officially established by the Eparchial Bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos, and His Excellency has appointed Rev. Fr. Aji Varghese as the priest in charge of this Mission. The Coordinator of the Malankara Catholic Missions in Canada and Syncellus of the Eparchy, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Gigi Philip, Rev. Fr. Abraham Lukose, and Rev. Fr. Paul Vellakunnath joined Rev. Fr.
